Employee Spotlight - Josh Hill, Hot Shop/Wood Shop
Josh Hill joined us on the recommendation of Ray Adkins, one of our hot shop veterans, and we’ve thanked him ever since! Josh is one of our sophomore class of apprentices, joining us in August of 2023. He’s been a studious, attentive, and diligent student of hot glass since, the very definition of coachable. Our Creative Director noticed, though, that he took a special interest in mould-maker Daniel Chapman’s work – and so we found a stellar apprentice mould-maker, to boot. He’s taken to the woodshop and the translation of design to mould through gouge and mallet. Josh is training by making the moulds that he and his sophomore apprentice class will blow – closing a loop and allowing him to translate the skills he’s learning from hot glass to woodworking.
