The classic 384 design was first introduced in 1938 and has been produced at our factory, by hand, almost non-stop since that very first year. At the time, the bottle's design was largely dictated by necessity...

With function before form in mind, it was made to fit into the narrow door shelves of the relatively new “electric icebox”. Today, that electric icebox is known as a refrigerator!

The water bottle’s narrow shape with two pouring spouts and center indentation made for easy handling and fit well in those early refrigerator doors.

Not dishwasher safe.

This is my FOURTH water bottle purchase from Blenko. This one is a housewarming gift for a neighbor. Ergonomically designed, these are the best pitchers for water, tea, juice or all your favorite "cool temperature" beverages. It says hand wash only, but I have put in the dishwasher before I realized that - I do not have a heating element, though. Love all Blenko products!

Hire a better photographer?

It was a quick delivery and a well-made product, but emphatically not the color represented online. I was disappointed when the sea spray glass bottle arrived looking uniformly sea spray without the clearer outer edges shown in the online photo. The only time the photo is true is when the actual bottle is seen at nighttime and the light is dim.
Because the bottle was meant as a gift for someone else, I kept it with the hope that my friend will like it as it is.
In addition to Seaspray, I also see issues with the color Tangerine. When I discovered the Tangerine bottle in a West Virginia gift store, I thought it was the most beautiful glass bottle I'd ever seen and I purchased it immediately. I have looked now at the online photo of Tangerine, and once again, the photo doesn't match the real thing. And, in my opinion the online coloring is quite ugly. I would never, ever have bought the Tangerine bottle based on its online photo.
Blenko, i wish you all the best and applaud the tradition you carry on. For now though, I will only buy bottles from you when I have seen the color in person.

Seaspray is a beautiful color and looks great in my collection! I love love the colors of all the Blenko water bottles; they're absolutely “yummy”!

My favorite necklaces

I absolutely love my necklaces! I wish I had one in every color. I think it is so smart to make the chain out of rubber so the glass doesn't get chipped or broken from a rough metal chain. I had 2 get damaged in a recent house fire, but thank goodness we found them in the ashes. I will never get them clean, but I will cherish them always. I would love them in the new Fig & Thistle!
