Employee Spotlight - John Shepherd
John Shepherd has been waiting for his chance in the spotlight, and here it is! (We had too much fun teasing him about his turn in the limelight.) John Shepherd has worked on our hot shop floor holding mould and, increasingly, sticking up our pieces in Shop One since 2021. The work of sticking up our pieces is more complicated than it seems, and requires a steady hand and laser eyes to center the punty on the completed piece. John has neither, but he’s learning, and that’s the best we could ask from him. We’re joking, though, because John jokes all the time – he’s the court jester of Shop1, keeping folks in good spirits when morale is flagging. Hot Shop work is hard, hot, and heavy, and John keeps us on an even keel. Even when his stick ups miss the mark, he’ll land the joke and keep us going.
