Employee Spotlight: Theresa Johnston – Custodian (and Official Keeper of the Flock)
Quack, meow, honk, squeak!! Earlier this week, you may have seen a video of Theresa marching out to greet her mighty flock, and we just knew it was time for her Spotlight!
Theresa joined us in October of 2023, originally stepping in as the Lehr Operator. As things often do around here, her role changed, and we’re lucky it did. Today, Theresa serves as our Custodian, though that title barely scratches the surface. She is the behind-the-scenes force keeping our campus clean, organized, stocked, and running smoothly day in and day out.
If something needs cleaned, stocked, wrangled, or handled, Theresa is already on it. From managing supplies and ordering materials to keeping spaces safe and clean, monitoring Blow Your Own experiences, packing boxes, and transporting glass, Theresa somehow does it all with energy, humor, and a watchful eye on everything around her.
Of course, because she’s a friend to all, Theresa also helps care for our feathered and furry residents, including the ever-iconic flock of ducks and their fearless leader, Henri the Goose. Along the way, she’s earned many nicknames, but our favorite happens to be Snow White. She seems to speak fluent Quack-Meow-Honk-Squeak, but more importantly, she knows exactly when things need attention, whether that’s a mess, a supply order, or a goose with very loud opinions.
Theresa is big, bold, exciting, funny, and dedicated on a whole other level. She keeps a sharp eye on everything, making sure things are done right and done safely. Outside of work, Theresa works with acrylics and resin to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of art, proving her creativity doesn’t stop when the workday ends. Whether she’s cleaning, organizing, ordering supplies, assisting with care, or keeping us all laughing, Theresa approaches everything she does with pride and purpose. We’re incredibly grateful for Theresa and the heart, hustle, and personality she brings to our campus every single day!
