Employee Spotlight - Roger Haning

At Blenko Glass Company, not every role is loud or flashy, but many are absolutely essential. Since joining the Blenko team in October of 2019, Roger Haning has been a steady, quiet force whose work helps carry each piece safely from production to completion.

In the cold shop, Roger is often responsible for drilling every one of our suncatchers after production and before they are shipped out, a task that demands patience, precision, and a careful hand. He is also an integral part of leveling and polishing pieces, ensuring that every detail meets Blenko’s standards before moving on to the next stage.

Beyond his daily cold shop responsibilities, Roger has also stepped up when needed to temporarily run the lehr, catching glass from the night shops. He showed up bright and early to make sure no piece was lost, sandblasting each one before it continued through to the next step, then gracefully transitioning his day back to the cold shop. This extra effort helped keep operations running smoothly and demonstrated his deep commitment to the process as a whole.

Roger may work quietly behind the scenes, but his consistency, reliability, and attention to detail make a lasting impact across the campus. We are grateful for the dedication he brings to his craft each day and proud to have him as part of the Blenko team.
