Employee Spotlight: Brittany Hodge - Hot Shop Apprentice
Some people dip their toes into learning something new, and then there’s Brittany, who showed up ready to cannonball straight into the hot shop!
Brittany Hodge joined the Blenko family in July of 2025 and has been making the most of every moment since. Eager to learn and never one to shy away from hard work, Brit has spent just about every spare second she can find practicing and sharpening her skills around the furnace. If there’s a chance to learn something new, chances are Brittany is already there asking questions, grabbing a tool, or volunteering to give it a try.
In just eight short months, she has already stepped into several roles on the hot shop floor, including carry-in, mould holding, and heat-in. Each position takes patience, coordination, and a willingness to learn the rhythm of the shop, and Brittany has been steadily building those skills one piece at a time. Around these parts, that kind of dedication most certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Balancing family, hard work, and the challenge of mastering a centuries-old craft is no small task, but Brittany carries it all with determination and pride.
We’re excited to watch her continue to grow, learn, and carve out her place in the hot shop. If the first eight months are any indication, Brittany’s just getting fired up!
