Tools of the Trade - Pegboards, New and Old
How do we know how many of anything we make on the daily? Old-fashioned wooden peg boards do the trick, with rows counting ten, and a little metal bit wired to the board. It’s one of the many small steps in the carry-in or finisher’s role, to keep a running tally of how many pieces we’re making. This helps us figure out quality control pass rates, daily yields, the pace of production.
Our apprentices are hip and digital, though – so we love the studious double accounting Shop Two was doing whilst doing Owl Bookends. Phone counter - meet peg board!
