The Blenko Glass Factory is one of the last handmade colored glass tableware factories anywhere in the world. You’re undoubtedly familiar with our brightly-colored, modern and stylishly designed glass, but have you ever stopped by to see how it’s made?
The good news is that we’re not so far away – a good day trip, or a relaxing overnighter – and you’ll see our history, our legacy, and our ongoing evolution all in one day! Schedule a trip for a weekday, and see our glassblowers in action from our free Observation Deck, or book a tour to get behind the scenes!
Our historic factory in Milton, WV is a sight to behold – and our Visitor Center Museum and Gift Shop the only place where you’ll see so much of our glass in one place. Wander through our Museum or our Garden of Glass and marvel at our rich design history! Weave in and around our gift shop tables and find just the right one-of-a-kind piece to bring home.
The Road from Lexington Is Not So Long! Golly, you’re basically just down the road from us! We asked our Creative Director to put together a roadtrip itinerary with some cool stops between Lexington and Milton!
Lexington You’re so close to us! Why haven’t you visited?? Just hop on I-64, cue up your favorite podcast, and head due East for a two-hour drive, and suddenly you’re here - in Milton - getting to see our magical glass first-hand!
Winchester, KY
Eklektic Alchemy
Just outside of Lexington on the way to Milton is beautiful Winchester. There are a couple of good antique shops in the downtown area but our personal favorite is Eklektic Alchemy – a terrific mix of midcentury and 20th century vintage and antique wares! We know they’re Blenko fans, too, because they’re always adding new stock.
Morehead, KY
Morehead Peddler’s Mall
The Peddler’s Mall chain is a pretty solid suggestion wherever you’ll find them, but we love the Morehead outlet in particular - a huge shop with tons of vendors selling all kinds of things, all in one place! A great place to shake off the car drive and wander around for a bit.
Grayson, KY
Grayson Uniques ‘n Antiques
Before you cross the state line into West Virginia, consider pulling off the interstate in Grayson, KY, where there’s a pretty cute little antique mall that always has a good selection of midcentury glass.
Huntington, WV
West Side Antiques District
Huntington’s 14th St W corridor is its epicenter of antiques – at least a half dozen stores selling a wide range and variety of vintage and antique wares. More than a few of these stores have impressive selections of vintage Blenko – so it’s worth a stroll!
The Woods Pizza
If you’re late to the pepperoni roll craze, let us recommend a little hole-in-the-wall in Huntington for our Creative Director’s favorite local pepperoni rolls. Chock full of cheese and pepperoni and served piping hot, these are worth a lunch or dinner stop!
We’re working continuously to improve our reference resources so you can dive deeper into our storied brand’s stories and support us into a new century of modern art glass for your home!
