Employee Spotlight: Perry Bays – Master Blower
Some people work for Blenko. Some people are Blenko. Perry Bays is, by all means, the latter.
Perry became a Blenkonian in October of 1990, which means he has been setting the standard around here longer than a good few of us have been alive. He’s the one, the only, the GOAT. If you’ve spent even five minutes around him, you already know that’s not an exaggeration.
The real question is, how do you truly encapsulate all that Perry is and all that he has done in just a few paragraphs? We’re not entirely sure, but we’re certainly going to try!
For nearly 36 years, Perry has been a constant force on the floor. He’s the kind of person who doesn’t flinch when something needs to be done, doesn’t hesitate when a challenge shows up, and definitely doesn’t turn one down. If anything, he asks for more. He’s blown pieces that some of us can’t even begin to comprehend and has become someone we look to as a true master craftsman of the shop. No matter what, Perry shows up every single time, without question.
There’s a level of knowledge that only comes from doing something day in and day out for decades, and Perry carries that with him in everything he does. He’s seen it all, done it all, and still shows up ready for whatever the day throws his way. That kind of consistency doesn’t just help the team. It is the backbone of it. There is no version of this place that would be half as strong without him.
While the word “legend” gets thrown around a lot, in this case, it’s nothing but 100% fact. Around here, Perry isn’t just part of the story. He’s helped mold it with each shape, each foot, each blow, and each piece, all done with a sense of confidence and pride he has rightfully earned.
In his off time, Perry is a family man who enjoys life on his farm and spending time with his horses. He is a proud father and, more recently, a grandfather to a sweet little boy. He takes pride in who he is, where he’s from, and the work he’s put in over the years.
We’re proud to have him, proud to work alongside him, and proud to call him one of our own.
