Employee Spotlight: Mike Stratton
Once! Twice! Three Times an Angel!
This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Mike Stratton, a cherished member of the Blenko Glass family since April 1991. With over three decades of experience, Mike currently serves as our Cold Shop/Grinding Supervisor, overseeing the finishing touches on some of our most beloved pieces. His steady hands and sharp eye help shape each item to perfection. From stoppered bottles to suncatchers — and ensuring every piece is leveled with care — Mike brings precision and pride to everything that passes through the Cold Shop.
When Mike came in for his photo, he shared a few stories with our Marketing Team about the two other times he’s been asked to play an angel — a fitting role, if you ask anyone here. We'd already planned the pose, but hearing those stories just confirmed what we already knew and wanted to share with the rest of you!
Beyond his skill, it’s Mike’s gentle nature, soft-spoken kindness, and unwavering positivity that make him truly special. He brings a sense of calm, care, and quiet strength to the workshop — and we’re lucky to have him.
