Employee Spotlight: Melissa Edwards – HR & Safety Director
At most workplaces, HR stands for Human Resources. At Blenko, it occasionally stands for Humor Resources, and that’s largely thanks to Melissa Edwards, who manages to enforce the rules while keeping the laughter flowing.
When Melissa joined the Blenko family in January of 2025 as our HR and Safety Director, she wasted absolutely no time getting started. Within just a few days, she seemed to know everyone’s name, their role, and their favorite snack. Whether it’s learning the ins and outs of the factory or getting to know the people who keep it going, Melissa made it clear from day one that she was in it for the long haul!
Now, don’t let the laughter fool you, Melissa is fair but firm, incredibly dedicated, loyal, and detailed enough to spot the tiniest safety hazard from a mile away. From helping with on-campus sales, to pitching in during company and public events, to lending a hand where we could use an extra set, Melissa proves daily that “not in my job description” simply isn’t part of her vocabulary. She keeps us on our toes and on our best behavior, all while delivering some of the funniest one-liners you’ll hear in the factory. When it comes to balancing policies and punchlines, she really knows how to handle the heat.
One thing Melissa definitely doesn’t lack is stamina. She’s constantly on the move, whether she’s at the factory helping keep things running smoothly or off the clock keeping up with life as a busy mom with kids whose schedules could rival a small sports league. And if that isn’t enough, she’s an incredible friend, expert snack provider, and someone who keeps family at the center of everything she does. Simply put, Melissa doesn’t slow down, she just changes lanes.
In a place where things run hot and busy, Melissa helps keep everything safe, organized, and just a little more fun. She keeps the rules clear, the spirits high, and the team supported and well-fed every step of the way. So if you see Melissa around the factory, be sure to say hello. Don’t worry though, you’re not in trouble. She’s probably just making her rounds, keeping us safe, and making sure the only thing getting burned around here is the glass.
