Employee Spotlight - Joseph Thayer, Hot Shop
Joseph Thayer joined us in August of 2023 as a hot shop apprentice, and we didn’t hear a peep out of him! Respectful, observant, quiet – at least until we brought him out of his shell. He’s been going through the paces of our hot shop, working mould-holding, carrying-in, and practicing bitwork and finishing. When the Creative Director set the Sophomore apprentice class to designing a signature spring ware – our Peebs! – it was Joseph’s design and diligence that won through. Practice made perfect, and Joseph got to lead his peers in a Peeb-making workshop – teaching the adorable, chubby, cheerful little spring bird paperweights that are coming out soon in our rich line colors!
