The solid base makes this vase perfect for one big peony blossom! I would not describe the color as turquoise, but rather a gem-like royal blue. Not as blue/green as what I think of as turquoise. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful addition to my collection of Blenko glassware. I'm glad I purchased it.
