This series produced during the week of August 28th, 2025 documents Matthew Urban's systematic investigation of glass manipulation and color combination techniques that are generally only possible at a historic place like Blenko Glass Company. Working within Blenko's world-famous factory, Urban gained unprecedented understanding of the factory's legendary color palette, enabling exploration impossible in typical studio settings. Each vessel in this series represents focused investigation into specific technical challenges - from interior color application and multi-color layering to surface texture effects, form manipulation, and various heat-application techniques. Urban's research-oriented approach treats each piece as both artistic achievement and technical expertise, building comprehensive knowledge that we're fortunate at Blenko to receive.
