My wife broke the large green water bottle vase and immediately got on the website to replace it. She was debating between the green or Seaspray blue. Her birthday was a few days off and was always hard to buy for so I thought I’d get the blue one for her. When I saw the smaller vase I thought that would be good for a bit of variation. Turns out to be the perfect size for the kitchen counter for a smaller spray of flowers. It was bluer than the photo and I think a nicer blue.
Blenko x Urban - Color Study Murine Series V
View Matt Urban's Profile
Murine glass showcases one of the most intricate and time-consuming techniques in glassmaking. Each piece begins with carefully fusing tiles of colored glass to create a detailed pattern. Once fused, they are then blown into a mould. Because of the complexity of this method, every murine piece takes significantly longer to produce than standard glassware. The design runs through the body of the glass, not just on the surface, creating rich depth and vibrant color in textured pieces. Each item is handcrafted, making no two pieces exactly alike. Subtle variations in color, pattern, and form are a natural part of the process and contribute to the unique character of every piece. The time and artistry invested in each work make murine glass especially prized by collectors and admirers of fine craftsmanship.
