Blenko Building Blocks are a new old idea here at Blenko. Inspired by the popular Blenko Minis line from the late 1950s, Blenko Building Blocks are small vases available in a range of crisp, clean geometric shapes and all of our current solid line colors. The building blocks were already in place – the perennially popular ‘Bubble’ bud vase (6424) and Andrew and Emma’s ‘Block’ bud vase (4418) – but we have added a spherical form (the ‘Ball’ vase), cylindrical form (the ‘Barrel’), and conical form (the ‘Beaker’). Each piece has the same footprint – a 3.75” base and stands approximately 5.5" tall with a short neck, perfect for single buds or small posies – and is designed to be mixed and matched, both in form and color.

James Arnett joined Blenko in 2023 as Creative Director, overseeing design, media, and narrative. He designed the 2023 West Virginia Day piece, “Specimen,” and its companions “If It Ain’t Broke” and “Gaslighting” lamp, and the 2023 Festival of Glass Square Peg Decanter, table lanterns, and 2023 holiday designs. He also works with and manages Guest Artists and Designers, and liaises with the academic and art glass communities.

Beautiful and elegant!

I was surprised at the weight of this lovely bud vase. The color is so vibrant and makes a beautiful addition anywhere in your home, either with fresh flowers, dried flowers, or just on its own. This is not a short vase by any means and is able to handle even some of the larger stems you might wish to display. Very happy with this purchase, as with everything I have EVER bought from Blenko.
