Blenko Glass on Good Morning America: Celebrating West Virginia Craftsmanship

Blenko Glass Company appears on Good Morning America, showcasing West Virginia glassmaking, live hot shop craftsmanship, and the new Good Morning West Virginia Vase.

There are moments that feel bigger than a single day. Our recent appearance on Good Morning America was one of them. As part of GMA’s America the Beautiful series, we had the honor of representing West Virginia craftsmanship on a national stage. Not just as a place, but as a legacy shaped by artisans, natural beauty, and a long history of glassmaking. From the glow of the hot shop to the hands of our team, we were proud to share what makes Blenko Glass and West Virginia so special.

Live Glassblowing on Good Morning America
Broadcasting live from our hot shop in West Virginia alongside host Rhiannon Ally, we did what we have done for generations: create glass by hand. There is no script in glassblowing. It is heat, timing, teamwork, and years of experience coming together in real time. For viewers across the country, this was a behind-the-scenes look at American handmade glass. For us, it was an opportunity to show that West Virginia glassmaking is not just history. It is still happening every day.

Introducing the Good Morning West Virginia Vase
To celebrate the moment, we created a new piece inspired by our home.
The Good Morning West Virginia Vase
Inspired by sunrise over the Appalachian Mountains, this handcrafted glass vase captures the warmth and color of early morning light. Made in our signature Tequila Sunrise colorway, each piece reflects the layered hues of a West Virginia sunrise. Each vase is hand-blown in our West Virginia hot shop, making every piece one of a kind. We also introduced the option to pair the vase with a Cobalt Sky Float, a deep blue glass accent inspired by the morning sky. Together, they create a sculptural piece rooted in both landscape and tradition.

The Legacy of Glassmaking in West Virginia
West Virginia has long been a center of American glass production, thanks to its natural resources and generations of skilled artisans. At Blenko Glass Company, we have been part of that story for over a century. Founded in 1893, Blenko remains one of the few places where glass is still made by hand using traditional techniques. This appearance on Good Morning America was more than a feature. It was a chance to share the enduring legacy of handcrafted glass in West Virginia with the world.

A Wild and Wonderful Moment
This moment was not just about a broadcast. It was about pride in place. In people. In process. A chance to share the landscapes, craftsmanship, and spirit that make West Virginia truly wild and wonderful.

Thank You
To everyone who tuned in, supported us, and shared in this moment, thank you. To our artisans, whose skill and dedication keep this tradition alive, thank you. And to West Virginia, for the beauty, inspiration, and history that continue to shape everything we create, thank you.
