Tyler stood out in his cohort class, but mostly for being a ginger. :) This guy came in with some borosilicate glass experience, which means he was eager to get his hands on our hot furnace glass. The scale and skills are very different, but the material is roughly the same - and he’s made the translation well. Furnace glass is hotter, heavier work than flameworking, in spite of what the name suggests – and Tyler signed on for an extra dose of the hot and heavy by volunteering to learn furnace tech skills and learning the ropes as a nightwatchman. He’s also a capable forklift driver, so he’s pretty much the complete package.
