When we invited our Guest Designer Phil Vinson to work with us to develop new lines of design, we were particularly drawn to his intricate, geometrically oriented metal moulds. So when he came up to work with us, he brought them all – Russian dolls of scaled moulds of an amazingly geometric and freeform piece. We exploited a free pocket of time last summer to grind and tweak them, test and trial them, before we had to set them down and do a little rethinking.

Well, we’ve sat on these beautiful pieces for too long. Everyone who has been through on a tour in the last year has seen them - and we can’t stand to keep them from you anymore.

These are some of the largest pieces we’ve ever made by several measure. Free form, and blown and pulled organically out of Vinson’s open metal moulds, each piece is tall - and wide. We called these pieces the ‘cellos’ around the factory – because they’re huge, and well-balanced, and harmonious. Each of these pieces is a combination of mould blowing and off-hand shaping, and each was blown by our veteran blower Dave Osburn and his demonstration shop during our Festival of Glass 2023.

Anyone who watched us make them - or who’s come through on tour in the last year - has spied these towering treasures and been awed. This is your chance to get a monumental piece!

Measurements: 26.5" high, 7" wide at base and 12" wide at widest point.
