John Nickerson

John Nickerson brought Blenko into the 1970s, and like designers before him, brought a ceramics sensibility to his design, and his overall work is a fascinating play on stout and tall forms. Tall, elongated cylinders are one of his trademarks, as are his elegantly lidded and organically corked jars and canisters, playing between style and function. He notably returned to lend a design hand in the early 2000s with his beautifully color worked Consorzio line, with its beautiful pastel fade color treatment. His 7018 pitcher pays homage to the classic pinched designs of Winslow Anderson.

Just had the florist fill it with flowers for Valentines Day. It's beautiful -- I collect cobalt and think I may have run out of items. I keep checking the new pieces looking for cobalt and appreciate getting your emails.

The tangerine pitcher is beautiful, but was just a little disappointed it was not offered with a crackled option. My crackled tangerine glasses refract light in an entrancing way, and would've liked to see that in the pitcher.
