The ‘Brood X’ Cicada memorialized in glass!

According to Wikipedia “Brood X, the great Eastern Brood, is one of 15 broods of cicadas that appear regularly throughout the Eastern United States. It has the greatest range and concentration of any of the 17 year cicadas. The brood's first major emergence after 2021 is predicted to be in 2038.”

Assemble a brood of your own with our new Tangerine Cicada Suncatchers to mark the rare appearance of these magnificent insects.

As a subtle reference to commemorate ‘Brood X’ the twigs and sticks in each suncatcher background have been designed in a way to display subtle x’s

Tangerine is a striking color so a natural variance of hue occurs with each small batch. All received orders are matched, but if placed at a separate time may have a tonal and unique characteristic.

My cicada in glass makes me happy. The cicadas not really appearing locally in plague-like numbers also makes me happy. The medallion is with others at the base of my livingroom houseplant. Adds just the right amount of color and light.

I love this. It’s my first Blenko suncatcher, and it brightens up my kitchen. It’s also much quieter than the original cicadas and reminds me how we survived the din!

    Stunning Suncatcher!

We enjoyed the emergence of the cicadas and the continuity of nature that allowed them to appear after 17 years. I bought one for myself and several gifts to nature lovers. The color is beautiful and it looks amazing with the sun glowing through it! A great keepsake!

I got both colors of the cicada suncatcher and I love them. I even got a couple more for friends. I live in cicada country and am glad to be able to have a (quieter) memory of brood X in 2021. I prefer the green, but like both.
