Nathan joined our hot shop team as an apprentice in July of 2022, and since then has worked in a range of positions, from mould-holder to carry-in to bitwork and stick-up. He was a point man for most of the bitwork on our WV Day pieces this year, endlessly hoofing it back to our Turquoise furnace to gather bits. Nathan’s mastery of glass has grown in leaps and bounds thanks to our apprenticeship training program, as well as his own undeniable interest in glass, and you can often see him assisting our demonstration artist James Woodson on the weekends. Nathan’s shown a real propensity for gathering, and knows that good glass starts when the blowpipe hits the furnace lip.
